Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems in Surrey

At T.S. McLaughlin and Sons, we use Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) as part of our water management practice and facility program. The use of SUDS allows for sustainable surface water drainage that supersedes conventional drainage practices using run-offs through pipes or through a watercourse.

We utilise the best housekeeping and management practices that mitigates the potential for pollution accidents, reduces potential polluting activity, eliminates the excessive use of polluting materials and uses ethical oil tank bundling and water harvesting methods that reflect our position as a conscientious business model.

The facilities we use include one or any combination of permeable surfaces, filter strips and infiltration trenches, detention basins and underground storage. Swales, wetlands and ponds are also part of our SUDS facility program and we may incorporate additional facilities that promote the absorption of polluting substances including oil and toxic metal.
